Units in Tempest Rising may have an active or passive status effect, which affects their stats and behaviour on the battlefield.

A unit may have multiple status effects applied at the same time.[1] Some negative status effects can stack up several times to completely hinder a unit.

Positive status effects

Comms

Friendly units within the radius of a unit providing Comms Comms gain increased rate of fire and move speed by 30%.[2][3]

Comms can be provided to Harvesters, increasing income rates dramatically.[4]

Prone

Infantry units under the Prone Prone effect gain 50% damage reduction against all attack types.

Sprinting

Infantry units under the Sprinting Sprinting effect gain increased move speed.

Negative status effects

Marked

A Havoc marked by a Sentinel

Enemy units and structures[5] under a temporary Marked Marked effect will generate Intel Intel when killed.

Each Marked target yields a specific amount of Intel upon being killed depending on their type. Please refer to the marked yield table for a complete list.

Riot Suppression

Infantry units under the Riot Suppression Riot Suppression effect have their move and attack speed decreased by 10%. If this effect stacks up 5 times, the affected infantry can no longer attack.

Tempest Charge

Vehicles can build up a Tempest Charge Tempest Charge effect which reduces their move and attack speed. They can be afflicted from this by either going through Tempest fields or being attacked by weapons that set this effect. If this effect stacks up 5 times, most vehicles can build up too much charge that will lead to a Tempest Overflow Tempest Overflow.[6]

Tempest Overflow

Vehicles afflicted with Tempest Overflow Tempest Overflow suffer from the Tempest Charge's debuffs and get damaged over time. The unit is also "silenced", i.e. unable to use any abilities.[9]

  • As Tempest Overflow is the end result of extreme Tempest Charge, units immune to Tempest Charge are also immune to Overflow.
  • The Boar and Pillager have the Reliable Systems perk, which makes them immune to Tempest Overflow.[10]
  • The Tempest Instability Missile imbues all vehicles within its blast radius with Tempest Overflow.
  • Voltaic weapons: the Operative, Physicist, Demolitionist, Voltaic Tank, and Voltaic Turret have the Voltaic Reaction ability, where they can instantly destroy vehicles suffering from Tempest Overflow.
