The Support Beacon is a GDF support power in Tempest Rising.

Background

The GDF prize their ability to respond to and control the evolving battlefield with the aid of their global rapid response network. With GDF Drones able to plant self-constructing prefabricated buildings almost anywhere in the world, their main limitation is proper identification of targets. The Support Beacon is an invaluable tool in the GDF arsenal for just this reason: it allows for the mobilization of Construction Drones with pinpoint accuracy and enables forces to rapidly deploy structures onto the battlefield.

Additionally, the Beacon serves as a Comms hub for local forces, bolstering combat operations at the same time it is providing support for construction operations.[1]

Game effect

When deployed at the target area, the Support Beacon is a temporary structure that provides building space, bolsters combat capabilities of nearby friendly units with Comms Comms, and Marked Marks enemies within its radius. This allows for significant amount of Intel Intel to be generated from defeated enemies.[2] Player vision of the area is required to call the power.[3]

The Support Beacon is delivered by a drone, which cannot be killed en route.
