Tempest Rising has a set population limit of 200, as of the demo. It limits the maximum number of units the player can have on the map.
Overview
Each unit takes up 1 or more population count depending on their type:[1]
- Light units and infantry take up 1 population count.[2]
- Medium units, such as the Hunter Tank, take up 2 population counts.
- Heavy units, such as the Boar, take up 3 population counts.
Structures, such as buildings and defenses, do not take up any population count.
The population limit is always set at 200 from the beginning of a match or level; there are no analogues to houses or supply buildings to raise the population capacity in the game.[3]
Specialists
Specialists have their own separate limit:
- In the campaign, only 1 of each specialist can be present on the map at a time. This is because specialists are named individual characters.[4]
- In skirmish and multiplayer, the player can train a total of 3 of the tier 2 specialists in any combination, and 1 of any tier 3 specialists.[5]
