Tempest Rising demo
The singleplayer demo of Tempest Rising was first released on 11 August 2023 for all Steam users to play.[1][5] It features the first missions of the both the GDF and Dynasty campaigns.
It was initially released as a Playable Preview during the 2023 THQ Nordic Showcase (11 August 2023) and included only the first GDF mission in the campaign. Players are introduced to 5 GDF units: the Field Scout, Drone Operator, Grenadier, Riot Medic and Sentinel; as they face up against the basic roster of the Tempest Dynasty. A full demo was released at the start of Steam Strategy Fest (28 August 2023) and adds the first Dynasty mission, The Tempest Gambit, along with several balance and bug fixes.[2]
The Strategy Fest demo was taken down from Steam in mid-April 2024 following a few days after a development update was posted in the same month. The reason for the demo's removal was that it did not represent the current level of visual nor gameplay quality of the game at the time of the post.[6]
A limited demo for Tempest Rising was released as part of TactiCon 2024 which featured two campaign missions, Hornets' Nest for GDF and The Informant for the Dynasty. The TactiCon demo was available from July 18 to 22.[4][7]
